The annual Independence Peace Walk, an initiative of a group of youths called The Ideal Youth will be happening soon as broadcasted on the media.
The peace walk has always been an avenue for sensitizing the public on pressing issues/happenings in the society. And this year’s which is the fourth will take off by 7:00am on the Independence day; October 1st 2019 at two different meeting points:
- Ado-odo/Ota L.G. Secretariat, Ota, Ogun state.
- June 12 Cultural Center, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Theme: TOGETHER AGAINST PEDOPHILIA AND SEXUAL ASSAULT.
According to a broadcast shared by one of the participants:
“We walk to commemorate our Independence🇳🇬🥳, empathise in the struggle of our heros past✊🏽 and sensitize the public on nationally relevant issues.”
“We will be a mass of youths on the road with Music & Sound, Banners, Flags, Placards, Tracts & Branded T-shirts talking to people about PEDOPHILIA AND SEXUAL ASSAULT: The Victim, Society, Help, Culprit & the Law.”
This Walk takes place with the support of the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps & Ado-odo/Ota & Abeokuta South Local Governments.
