Student calls out Ogun state government via letter

An OGITITE who happened to be speaker of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMACOS); Rt.Hon Afolabi Emmanuel has put to writing an open letter to the government of Ogun state.

This he made public by submitting to us for publication. The letter reads;

Your Excellency sir,

I will like to commend your tremendous efforts toward the achievements so far in office. I cannot but say thank you for Sir.

I write with great mirth, embedded with consciousness and bearing in mind, the rear privilege it bestowed on me.

Primo, I will like to once again painstakingly commend the great achievements your government has so far birthed; this of course is a precursor to the greater things to be accomplished.
Your excellency, beyond sentiments, Ogun state is fast departing from past shenanigans of projects without human faces.

While your actions so far are commendable sir, there are still many areas that are so vital to human life’s which I will like your government to improve on.

They are:
1. Bad roads
2. Insecurities
3. Unemployment
4. Good health facilities

1. Bad roads: Sir, there is no need for rhetoric’s when discussions about the bad state of many roads in the state come to fore.
The state of our roads has become a night mare to the entire citizens of Ogun state. Many roads are no longer motorable and are crying for repair.
The condition of this roads has brought about many negative changes like, increase in transportation fare, damaging of cars, constant accident, fighting among road users to Lane and lots more.

Your Excellency Sir, I had tears running down my eyes and my feet shivering with fear because we are now in the rainy season. I am certain that many citizens in affected areas are also sad that their problem is going to be aggravated with the rainy season already here.

Many of this roads which are only sand filled by the citizens themselves will be destroyed by massive erosion and then become a flash point for armed robbery and accident.

Funnily enough, most of the affected roads; Agbado, Oke aro, Ijoko, Matogun, Lambe, Lusada, Atan, Agbara, Igbesa are of untold economy importance to the State.

2 . Insecurities: I know it is not easy with dealing with insecurities.
To be feeling vulnerable, unsafe and unable to find comfort in anything, it can take a huge toll on you, mentally, physically but mostly emotionally. I know you just can’t seem to stop worrying about what people may say behind you. No matter how hard you work hard and try, it is never enough.
It is not that security in the state is that bad but definitely, there is room for improvement and that is what the people seek.

3. Unemployment: Sir, I also commend your efforts about the issue of unemployment in the state, but it is still enough sir. There is need for more job opportunities for our teeming youths and a foresight mechanism that can take care of upcoming graduates.

4. Health Facilities: Covid 19 has really exposed the health sector of the State and the Nation at large. It really shows that our hospital are not well equipped. Sir, we need an improvement in the health sector and which you have been doing.

Finally, I humbly plead that you use your God given position, backed by the votes of the Ogun State people to ensure that you create job opportunities, adequate securities, good health facilities, re construction of bad roads and construction of new one.

Thank you sir!

Long live Ogun State!!!
