The world sports appellate body, in a letter dated Nov. 7 in which an earlier decision taken by the CAF Disciplinary Council to disqualify the Equatorial Guinea team from the 2018 CAF Women’s Cup of Nations was examined, agreed with CAF.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that CAF’s decision had made the Kenyan team unable to take part in the tournament.

Football Kenya Federation had sought a ruling from CAS annulling the decision of Nov. 7 in order for Football Kenya Federation to be reintegrated into the tournament in place of Equatorial Guinea.

In addition to its appeal, Football Kenya Federation filed an urgent request for provisional measures requesting the annulment of the challenged decision and its reinstatement to the competition.

The CAF filed a written reply submission and earlier on Friday, the President of CAS Appeals Arbitration Division issued an Order on Provisional Measures rejecting FKF’s request for provisional measures.(NAN)
